Definition of offline environment
Many video-surveillance systems are in a so called offline environment - meaning the cameras do not have any access to the public internet network or are in a restricted VPN network environment.
In such environments, applications are installed through the Device Management Tool provided by the Security and Safety Things. The tool is currently in beta mode and can be requested here: https://support.securityandsafetythings.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Offline application installation
To install an application in an offline environment you need to have:
- a PC with access to the internet
- installed Device Management Tool
- purchased applications
First, you need to open the Device Management Tool. On the top right hand corner of the tool, there is a Cloud Login option. Click on that button and enter your credentials for the Security and Safety Things device management portal.
Once logged in, select the application you wish to install and click the Download button.
Next step is to access the network in which the cameras are installed and discover the cameras using the tool. At this point, it is possible to install the downloaded application on a single camera or a bulk install on several cameras.
